How to Assemble, Use and Clean the Passive Molecular Iodine Inhaler

This is what the Inhaler looks like fully assembled.

How to Assemble

OVERVIEW:

It’s easy to forget that “in the beginning,” water was everywhere, and there was nothing BUT water. And given our air-breathing physiology, and our travels far from the source of evolutionary birth, it’s easy to forget that we came out of the water, and lived next to the water, and developed as water-loving, land-dwelling littoral creatures. We originally relied upon, and still rely upon the oceans to nourish, sustain and grow us.

The oceans contain almost all the world’s iodine. When we stray far from the oceans, we become iodine deprived. This deprivation has significant, and potentially disastrous consequences.

We can’t all live on the coasts, and there’s a health-related reason why ocean-front properties are so expensive. But we CAN breathe iodine daily, as if we lived on the edge of the sea. The healthiest people in the world breathe ocean air all day – ocean air filled with molecular iodine. You can be like them – with the Passive Molecular Iodine Inhaler.

Here is the Inhaler, dis-assembled.

In order to use the Inhaler, you need to empty into it one of the 30 mL bottles of 10% PVP-Iodine. After doing that, reassemble the device, and make sure that the top “Y” part is properly threaded onto the bottom cylindrical reservoir.

Once emptied into the Inhaler, you can dispose of the 30 mL bottle and top, or save it for some other use.

Here is a picture of the ten bottles, each 30 mL that you will have received with the Inhaler.

There are only five parts, and the ONLY part which needs some explanation is the strainer at the top left.

It has two projections in the middle of the strainer/disk. The SMALL projection faces the long plastic tube, and fits into the base of the “Y” shaped top piece.

How To Use And Clean

HOW MUCH MOLECULAR IODINE DO YOU ACTUALLY GET FROM THE INHALER?

To get MORE 30 mL bottles, please call (305 667-9375) or write (erosov@iodineproducts.com). We’ll send you 10 new refill bottles for $20 – no additional shipping cost. Each bottle should last you between 7 and 14 days, depending on how frequently you use it. If you use it 10x a day, replace the iodine fluid every week; if you use it 5x a day or less, you can use the Inhaler for two weeks or so.

Here is an outline of the inhalation chemistry and the amount of iodine available in use. While the logic is sound, there are many possible variations in use, and this description is quite general. Everyone’s different.

  1. A normal adult male has a lung tidal volume of about 500 mL, at rest, in general.

  2. An active deep breath will yield about twice that, or 1,000 mL.

  3. As a marking point, air contains 21% oxygen. When we breathe in and out, we absorb about 4-5% of the oxygen in the breathable air.

  4. One cubic meter of air contains about 20 grams of water at 100% relative humidity (at normal room temperature).

  5. Therefore, one cubic meter of air, or 1000 liters of air, will hold about 20 grams of water.

  6. One liter of air at 100% humidity will contain 20 milligrams of water.

  7. The air inhaled from the Passive Iodine Inhaler will come through a 10% solution of PVPI.

  8. In a 10% PVP-I solution, there are approximately 0.1 milligrams (100 micrograms) of molecular iodine in one milligram of PVP-I

  9. Therefore, each casual, normal breath with the Inhaler will provide ~100 micrograms of iodine.

  10. The recommended upper limit for iodine is – theoretically – 1,100 micrograms.

  11. At the highest assumed levels, it is safe to use the Passive Iodine Inhaler about 10 times a day.

  12. This is assuming that 100% of the iodine is actually passed into the bloodstream. In reality, iodine will be both inhaled and exhaled, and at least half of the iodine will be removed via exhalation. (Consider oxygen absorption.)

  13. Therefore, if your goal is to get a modest 500-1000 micrograms – about 2x-4x the Recommended Daily Allowance – using the Inhaler 10 times a day is likely to provide that.

  14. It is important to consider that inhaling through the Passive Iodine Inhaler will bring molecular iodine into direct contact with the mucosal lining of the mouth, pharynx, larynx, trachea and then the entire bronchial tree (some eight or nine branches) all the way to the respiratory bronchioles and then the alveoli.

  15. Keep in mind that the RDA was set decades ago, and was created only to prevent endemic goiter.

  16. The RDA has never been adjusted for our new understandings of how much iodine is truly needed for optimum functioning.

  17. The healthiest population on earth, the Okinawans, consume/ingest about 3 milligrams of iodine per day. They breathe sea air as well, which contains mostly molecular iodine, and this could add one milligram of iodine to the body, or more.

  18. Given that an average person takes in about 21,000 breaths a day, an average Okinawan is breathing in (and out) about 800 micrograms daily of molecular iodine in sea air.

  19. By using the Passive Iodine Inhaler, you can readily attain the levels of iodine intake which are consumed/respirated by the world’s longest-lived and healthiest populations. The possibility of this having a salubrious effect on your general health is significant.

In short, if you use the Inhaler 10x a day, you’ll get somewhere between 500 and 1,000 micrograms (500-1,000 mcg) of iodine into your system. If you use it 5x a day, it’ll be more in the area of 250-500 mcg.

It’s important to understand that inhaled molecular iodine follows a very different metabolic pathway than ingested iodine. The problems that can be associated with excess iodine intake – especially in the absence of adequate selenium intake – will not occur with molecular iodine. That is, the thyroid will not be damaged by inhaled molecular iodine, as it can be with excessively ingested iodine. This isn’t the place to explain the details of this, but if you are interested and want to discuss it, please call me (anytime) at 305 667-9375.

BREAKAGE FAILURE

If you drop, break, damage or lose parts to the Inhaler, we will replace them for free, either entirely – with a new Inhaler – or with new replacement parts. We will charge for shipping, which will be in the area of $15. We will not charge for the device parts.
